Inspiring film!

Last night I was at the World Premiere of The Turning Point: a return to community, a short documentary film made by my friends and colleagues, Lisa Mead and Alex Page, who used to be in my Mastermind group. It shows how we can begin to make a transition in our every day lives to a low carbon lifestyle, and therefore future. It also shows many aspects of the Findhorn Community at work.

When I first saw this film I was so inspired I ordered ten copies immediately! I thought this was something I could feel truly proud of, and send to my friends and family, and pass on to others too. It shows aspects of conscious, community living and ways of living locally that tread more (more...)

Inspired action — what is it exactly?

If you know my work, you’ll have realised I often talk about taking inspired action, as opposed to motivated action. Inspired action brings with it more ease, sense of purpose, joy and meaning.

The Findhorn Foundation are organising a week long conference on this theme; if you are at all attracted by the idea of inspiration being the factor behind your actions, then visit http://www.findhorn.org/programmes/programme375.php for more info.

The Art of Possibility

Wow! I’ve just been watching an amazing video clip of a guy who speaks passionately about the world of the downward spiral vs the world of possibility. You may have heard of him – conductor Benjamin Zander. On this video there are several gems such as

a) what to do when you make a mistake (and it’s not saying ‘Oh how stupid!’)

b) how sitting on one buttock can transform your life

c) a demonstration with a young cello player of allowing Spirit into what you do

It’s a remarkable form of coaching by a remarkable man; check it out at this link:

I dare you not to be inspired!

How to Simplify Your Life

Yesterday on one of my Coaching Circle calls we were talking about flow, and the importance of it in practical terms, ie systems. All successful businesses, large or small, have efficient systems to manage what happens. Even individuals in their home lives have systems (or not!) to manage their household.

A smooth running system can make all the difference to the ease you experience within life. One of the participants recommended a book:

How to Simplify Your Life:
Seven Practical Steps to Letting Go of Your Burdens and Living a Happier Life
Tiki Kustenmacher with Lothar J Seiwert

Have a look!

Are you being your personal best?

‘What do I need a coach for? I’ve always managed perfectly well on my own’.

This is a cry I’ve often heard in response to someone suggesting they find a coach. And of course, some people do manage perfectly well on their own. Others go through traumatic, challenging times and have no problem seeking out help. And yet the majority of people tend to struggle on through life, vaguely feeling like they could do better, or thinking that something is missing, or wondering why life is passing them by.

But having some coaching is just getting help. In the old days, you might have got help from your auntie who lived down the road or round the corner. Now, with much more extended families, and the (more...)
