Jane’s Blog

Here I let you into the workings of my mind as I go about my days, and how the spirit of rich thinking occurs in my life, and can therefore occur in yours too. All comments very welcome, as I learn and grow from everyone!

Comparison and competition

I read somewhere recently that comparison was just a cousin to competition. Not that there is anything wrong with either of these states, but it is extremely easy when comparing to end up feeling either ‘more than’ or ‘less than’, neither of which is true.

Comparison can be very healthy if it encourages people to stretch and grow themselves; but again, it is all too easy to fall prey to egotistical thoughts that then can become your downfall. Like the other day when I was so sure that I had sent an email, and found myself beginning to blame the recipient for not replying to me. Because of course, I would never just not reply! And then, rather humblingly, I [read more]

How to manage in troubled times part 2

Well I have really set myself up for this interview tonight! (View the previous blog on the details, as there is still time to listen in for for free).

Am I an expert in thinking richly? Yes! And how I’ve got to that place is by also being an expert in thinking poorly! Yes, last night I had an attack of poor thoughts, so I really got the chance to put into practice what I will be speaking about on the interview tonight. Nothing like walking your talk…

One of the things I was practicing was an idea from the book Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks, where you practice holding a thought you actively want [read more]

I want to flag up the fact that on Thursday 18th February at 7pm UK time, I am being interviewed on the phone on the subject of ‘How to manage in troubled times’, by my colleague Sheela Masand. I’m shocked! I just saw the last date that I blogged here was nearly two weeks ago. Amazing how time passes.

This is not the way to blog, I do know that. But because I haven’t yet set up a system, let alone operate one, to remind myself to blog regularly, of course it doesn’t happen, and that’s when time seems to slip away.

So lesson one in blogging — decide why you’re blogging and how often you want to do it. There’s lots more souls out there who know more about this than me, but even just from a common sense point of view, if you want to keep in touch with people visiting your site, and keep them [read more]

Inspired action in practice

It seems that I often get opportunities to choose between ‘outer’ actions, ie those that are about doing, like making a phone call, writing an article, creating a landing page, and ‘inner’ actions, which are more about ‘being’, ie sitting down and listening to a visualisation; taking a moment or two out of the day to simply be still and breathe consciously; or to remind myself that I am not alone in doing this business, I am in partnership with my soul too.

Just an hour or so ago, I had returned to my desk and was checking emails. One had come in from a marketing guy, with a short video clip to watch about his methods. I was watching [read more]
