Jane’s Blog

Here I let you into the workings of my mind as I go about my days, and how the spirit of rich thinking occurs in my life, and can therefore occur in yours too. All comments very welcome, as I learn and grow from everyone!

The ‘What Colour is Your Parachute?’ Prioritising process

Last night I was sitting with my husband down at Findhorn Bay (lovely evening, still water, yachts bobbing gently). We were talking about what other things to do to promote The RichThinking Way which starts next Wednesday 1st September (early bird price ends today at midnight by the way!).

Well, there’s a lot we could do, and will do. But the most interesting and useful part of our discussion was how we arrived at prioritising the list. If you’ve never done this before, then I highly recommend this particular method, which very clearly identifies your priorities. (I introduce you to lots of other methods on the RichThinking Way).

Basically, you compare one item against another. I first came across this [read more]

Your place of inner safety

Yesterday on my free teleclass I was asked a very pertinent question. I had suggested that when you aren’t feeling good, you put yourself into a place of inner safety. The question was: how do you do that?

Now for time reasons I hadn’t gone into exactly how to do that on the call, but reflecting afterwards I realised that this is a crucial part of my own spiritual practice and what I therefore bring to my own business. When I am in a place of fear, anxiety, worry, or just tightness and tension, it is very tempting to think that ‘more’ will solve whatever problem I am facing, ie more clients, more money, more time, more ease and flow [read more]

Meditation and anger — can they go together?

I was sitting in Cluny sanctuary this morning, part of the Findhorn Foundation, attending the 6.30am silent meditation, which lasts for an hour. There were about 12 of us there, all sitting on chairs or meditation cushions; sometimes the quality of the silence is so pure it is that in itself that is nourishing.

Not today though! Someone was practicing heavy breathing, or so it seemed to me. She was breathing in, holding the breath, and then breathing out. Not the end of the world, you might think, but in a silent atmosphere, it is very noisy!

What was interesting though was the effect it had on me — I was so furiously angry that I began harbouring violent fantasies [read more]

You Tube first!

Wow! I am amazed at the technology available these days (and I’m probably behind the times!)

I just made a little video clip by sitting here in front of my laptop, had it posted to You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92C6Do_JTHA and there I am, chatting away for a minute or so about the RichThinking Way! (I use an Apple Mac by the way — not sure if it is just as easy with a PC, although I’ve heard that Audio Acrobat is very easy to use).

It wasn’t like this when I was last promoting events — at that time, the internet’s popularity hadn’t reached the mainstream; I was publishing audio tapes, not even CD’s; to publish a book you had to [read more]

Facebook ads

If you’re a one-man band it’s a real challenge to move ahead without help — and I don’t advocate that. The more help you get, the better, in fact — and I feel blessed to have had 2 people working on understanding the world of Facebook ads for me this week — resulting in a lot more sign-ups for my next teleclass on Wednesday 25th August.

Its exciting! Nothing like seeing yet another subscriber on your mailing list, or signed up for whatever it is you have to offer. If you are someone who passionately wants to share your message with the world, then getting out there to more and more people is food for the soul.
