Inside Out Interview Tips: Part 2

also posted in Jane's Blog

Success! Following the tips I sent to a subscriber asking for help re preparing for a job interview, I just received a lovely email this morning saying thank you, because she had got the job! Hurray!

I used those tips to craft an article for a successful business conversation (see below) but if you’d like to see the original regarding interviews, here it is:

7 tips for having a successful interview

1. First decide to take the general attitude that the perfect job for you is out there; it’s just a matter of finding it. This means that any of the jobs you haven’t yet got haven’t been the perfect one, and it’s simply a matter of continuing until you find it, or it finds you.

2. As best you can, imagine (more...)

Spiritual activism and money making

Spiritual activism? What is that exactly? This week I was attending a lecture given by Scotsman Alastair Mcintosh, author of Soil and Soul: People vs Corporate Power. He is part of the Inspired Action conference run all week by the Findhorn Foundation, nearby to me.

His lecture was about how he managed to stop Lafarge, a French cement company from desecrating a mountain in the Isle of Harris; took 13 years, but this inspired man managed to find a solution suitable for all, culminating in a piece of the mountain being cemented back on top again with Lafarge cement!

But what place does this have in this website? At the end of his lecture, I spoke in an emotional way as I asked him how he manages to not (more...)

Trusting your business decisions

Have you got a trust wound?

By this I mean do you find it difficult to trust yourself? You might say no, of course I can trust myself, but take a moment to ask yourself the following:

  • Do you worry about what other people think?
  • Do you tend to think that others’ know better than you do, or know more?
  • Do you procrastinate, concerned about whether you will be making a mistake or not?
  • Can you make decisions about what you want to do with your business easily and quickly?
  • Are you willing to back the decisions you do make, and take responsibility for their consequences?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to the first three, or ‘No’ to the last two then you have a trust wound. It might only be a little one, that needs a bit (more...)

Your energetic impact

We often discuss the ‘energy’ of something on the RichThinking Way, but what is that exactly? Well, today I had an insight into this in a very easy to understand manner. I had been guided in a visualisation I was doing to ‘Step up and into my full space in the world’. Thinking about this, I also started to think about others whom I know take up their space fully. And it’s nothing to do with how big or small they are!

Take two men acquaintances, I’ll call them Jerry and Tom. Jerry is over 6’2″, and very wide to match. He takes up a lot of physical space. Tom is my size, about 5’4″ and slight. He probably takes us about half as much space as Jerry. (more...)

Beliefs about money get in the way!

I’m on the RichThinking journey too, just like anyone who’s attracted to this site, and I get to learn all the time too. What does this mean? Well the latest that it’s meant to me is that I’ve been wondering why registrations for the RichThinking Way have been not as quick or prolific as I expected them to be. In my way of thinking, that meant I was out of alignment somehow. But I couldn’t see how.

Until this weekend. I was out walking in the woods early, when it occurred to me that my parents had demonstrated very well the rather old-fashioned concept of traditional male/female roles in regards to money. My Dad was the breadwinner, my Mum did work (on top of caring for 4 children) (more...)
