also posted in Jane's Blog

You don’t very often read these two words ‘love’ and ‘business’ in the same sentence. But you probably know that bringing more love into anything is a good idea, and more love in your business will bring in a lot of things that will help to have your business flourish, just as a baby flourishes in the presence of a lot of love.

When I was at Aberdeen Hospital the other day with my husband who is receiving chemotherapy treatment at the moment, we began to think of all the people who had said they were thinking of us.
‘There’ s Wyon and Janet in Oxford,’ I said.
‘And Kabba in New Zealand,’ responded Philip.
‘Yes, then there’ s [read more]

Why I’m Not Setting Goals This Year

also posted in Jane's Blog

Right now is traditionally a time for setting goals, especially in the business world. There’ s plenty of evidence that people who set goals are more likely to achieve them than those who don’ t set any at all. And yet this doesn’ t account for the numerous people who seem to get where they want to be without setting any goals, like Rosemary Harris, award-winning actress, who said “ I’ ve only ever paid attention to what was in front of me, making decisions according to the opportunities available and what I would most like doing.” And Louise L. I reorganise my schedule during the winter so I can easily get out in the daytime. This applies to businesses too, so how much time do you spend in the daylight and nightime of your business?

Dark and light are functions of a dual universe where there is an opposite for everything, and where if we didn’ t have that, we wouldn’ t be able to understand positive [read more]

Is There Life After Christmas?

also posted in Jane's Blog

At this time of year, this is a question I often ask myself as I see so many
people focusing on the ‘ big day’ and the associated holidays. And even if
you have your own business, and know that life doesn’ t stop just because
Christmas is coming, it’ s easy to get sucked into the idea that your internal
diary stops at Christmas and New Year and doesn’ t start up again until
after it’ s all over. If you find yourself arriving in January thinking ‘ whew,
that’ s it for another year, now what?’ then take heart.

You can avoid that question by mulling over now what you want to be
focusing on for 2011. It [read more]
