What’s the Point of Plans?

also posted in Jane's Blog

It takes a lot of courage to not have plans in your life and business. The traditional way of doing business is most definitely to have a plan, in fact it’s even called that, a business plan. It sets out your intentions with your business, where you want to go with it, and how you think you will get there. If you need funding to help you get started, or take your business to the next level you will almost definitely need this kind of plan. That’s understandable, as someone offering funding most likely will want to know what you ‘plan’ to do with it.

The thing about plans though is that they often don’t happen as planned! In fact, [read more]

Who’s Really in Charge of Your Business?

We human beings like plans, on the whole. We tend to wake up and know what our day is going to be like. We act as if what we think is going to happen, will happen. But what do you do when suddenly out of the blue, something interrupts your plans? What do you do if your plans appear to unravel before your very eyes? When the structures you have set up to conduct your life within begin to crumble and fall apart?

I do remember when I first wondered why I would want lots of money if I didn’t have peace of mind. And that was when I really began to open my heart to what my true desires were.

Peace of mind, like health, is priceless. In both cases, you simply can’t quantify them in monetary terms. No matter how much money you have, or how little, if your mind is not at peace then you will be unhappy. Many people think that if they had a bit more money, then they would be [read more]

Putting Prices Up in a Downbeat Economy

also posted in Jane's Blog

Putting up price is not a function of whether there is a strong or weak economy. There is still plenty of money around, especially if you choose to believe there is. Maybe some people are being more conservative in their spending; maybe some have had to cut back on some things that previously were considered essential. Maybe minds have had to be focused on what really is important.

When it comes to pricing, and considering raising your prices, be sure it is nothing to do with what the state of the world is. If you are providing a service or a product that people want, then you still will have a business. If you believe your product or service [read more]
