Fear: Middle of the Night Survival Kit for when the worries wake you up

This survival kit is a list of soothing options to turn to when you wake in the middle of the night worrying. I’ve been in this place often, so I’m well-qualified to write about this! This is my personal kit of things that work for me; I’ve divided it into two sections, the first when for whatever reason you just want to distract yourself enough to go back to sleep, and the second for when you are conscious enough and wanting to address the fear.

You might find that you don’t have to get out of bed, but I find that taking action and moving to another physical place in itself can interrupt my worrying mind. It is a really hard thing to do, to get (more...)

How your workplace and a hotel are essential to your business

If you’re used to seeing hotels only as places to rest and relax, you’ll be wondering what on earth this title means. And if you never go into hotels, you might be wondering too! But where you do different kinds of work is really important in how it gets conducted.

Usually your main place of work is where you do the nitty gritty of your service, that is, the actual delivery of it. The Placemat Prioritisation Process

This is an exercise from the book Ask and It Is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, and it’s about how you organise your day. So if you’re someone who easily gets overwhelmed, or finds it hard to complete tasks, or to get started, or can’t sort out your priorities, then give this way a try.

The PlaceMat Process is so-called because it was first devised on the back of placemat in a restaurant. Here’s what you do:

1) Make a long list of what has to be done

2) Take another piece of paper and divide it in two. Head up the left hand side Things I Will Do Today, and the right hand side Things I Would Like the Universe To Do

3) Looking at your long list of all that has (more...)

Introduction

Many people don’t realise how much they sabotage themselves by the way they think. And if you’re thinking right now ‘this doesn’t apply to me’, then that’s an example of what I’m talking about! Everyone can benefit from understanding the power their mind has over them, if they’re not aware of it.

What are you saying to yourself that is damaging your efforts at success?

Here are 5 mind mistakes that mean you’re getting in the way of your own success, perhaps without even noticing.

1. Your mindset is programmed for doing OK only

This is the normal mindset for most people. In fact, most people don’t even realise this is what they’ve done. So how can you find out if your mind is unconsciously programmed for mediocrity (more...)
