Being vs Doing

A client recently sent me this lovely mantra (thanks Jen!):

Just to be is a blessing
Just to live is holy
Just to be, just to live
is a blessing, is holy.

So often we spend our time doing, and forgetting that being is at least as important if not more so. Recently I heard Wayne Dyer speaking on this, where he stated that he now felt himself (at 69 years old) to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I asked myself that, and I ask you too: Are you a spritual being having a human experience, or a human being having a spiritual one?

I dare you to be honest about this! Perhaps you know you’d like [read more]

Can You Really Surrender Your Goals to the Universe?

In my first book Choose Your Thoughts, Change Your Life, I wrote
in the introduction about using an affirmation that said “Today I

There is an enormous amount of fear around, understandably. When the rug is swept out from under your feet, the first reaction is shock and this is usually accompanied by fear, as all the structures that have held up your life come crumbling down, if not now, then in the near future. Hence the thoughts being [read more]

Living with change

Yesterday, at our morning sharing here in our community, we heard the day’s reading from Eileen Caddy in Opening Doors Within. I’m repeating it here because it was so pertinent to my particular situation at the moment, and applicable to everyone, I’m sure.

“Because something was right and proper yesterday does not mean it is today. That is why you have to live one day at a time, and live fully in the ever-present, glorious now; for when you can do it without any reservations and preconceived ideas you will be able to accept change without resistance and life will flow with ease and smoothness. It is much easier to say it than to do it, especially when you have [read more]
