I’m on holiday at the moment in the south of Scotland, at our cabin on the beach, where there is currently no electricity, let alone an internet connection. Why no electricity? Because the lights in the cabin have 12 volt electricity provided by a small wind turbine, which normally works perfectly — and there is an inverter for a 240v system when charging up mobiles etc is needed.
But this time, there has been hardly any wind for two weeks — unheard of in this part of the world, and perfect for lounging about in the sun, but not so perfect when lights are wanted about 7.30pm in the evening!
