Learning from my body

in Jane's Blog

I’ve been in bed all week with a very nasty cold. Not nice. But as I was lying there, I decided to find the positive aspects of the situation. One of them glared out at me — I got to lie down a lot, read some novels, and forget all about everything else!

The previous week I had been working very hard with some unusual commitments in that week, as well as getting things ready for the RichThinking Way Free Trial set up. I knew I was pushing, and on the Saturday night as I was at a friend’s house for supper I felt the prickings of a sore throat.

Sure enough, that started the cold. Today, I’m definitely on the mend. And today, I’m reflecting on how I can manage my time better to ensure that I don’t have to have such extremes of behaviour. Much of it comes from being willing to trust that things happen in their right timing. That is a choice to make, but really, there is very little that absolutely HAS to be done by a certain time, otherwise complete disaster occurs. Yes, there may be consequences, but who am I to say that those consequences won’t bring another opportunity that otherwise woudn’t have happened?

So balance for me today is taking the form of cancelling a previous engagement for tonight; not taking a walk; going to do my 3 hours of voluntary work for the Findhorn Foundation — but then resting after. And remembering Louise Hay’s mantra (and many others) ‘All is well and I am safe’. How can you balance your day today?
