How your perception defines your reality

posted in Heart of RichThinking

A bunch of kids at a famous public school were sitting chatting with their friends and the conversation came on to the subject of whether their families were wealthy.

‘Well ‚’ said one ” I guess we are wealthy because my family can afford to send me here.’

“What about you guys?’

“Not us ‚’ said another, ‘My family are dirt poor, I’m only here cos I got a scholarship’.

And so on it went , until they got to my friend’s daughters, but they stopped right there and didn’t ask the question. Instead they said,

“Well, there’s no point in asking YOU!!! Your Mum’s well posh!’

This is a story told to me by a friend and colleague, and [read more]

Growing into a new idea

I’ve received lots of lovely feedback about the new site — thank you so much if you’ve taken time to do that. Plus lots of useful feedback too, about various things that weren’t quite working. The ones I don’t understand I pass on to Mark, the guy who is in charge of the technological aspect of the site. He’s the one sent me an email about bugs, scripts and spambots (what on earth are they???)

‘I must blog about this!’

That was the thought I had this morning when I was sitting round a table in the Findhorn Foundation community centre, meeting with Philip (husband and business partner), Mark (brilliant IT man and creator of this site) and Gabrielle (just on board, and working with the weekly newsletter). I had realised over the weekend that I wanted to mark the occasion of this new website, and all it has taken to [read more]

List ten things you can do that will interfere with the success of your business.

That’s all. Yes, read it again — that will interfere with the success of your business. By focusing on the opposite of your business thriving, you’ll give yourself the very things you need to do to keep it thriving. Each time you specify something that isn’t working, you have the opportunity to turn it around [read more]

Handy newsletter hint

Have you noticed that there’s a lot less time around these days?

Daft, isn’t it, even that very notion! But that is what it sometimes seems like, when I’ve noticed that I like to know in advance how long a YouTube video is going to be before I start watching. Or with an article, I scroll to see how long it is before I start to read, or find out how many pages on the PDF file I’ve been sent.

You can turn this to your advantage if you’re sending out newsletters or information — let people know in advance how long your MP3 will take to listen to; write in the number of words of your article and how [read more]
