Credit Crunch and RichThinking

posted in Heart of RichThinking

I’m normally vigilant in not reading newspapers, or at least the ‘bad news’ in newspapers; I never read or listen to the news on the TV or radio. This doesn’t mean I don’t know what’s going on in the world, I do — it’s easy to pick it up from other people just in comments made here and there. I just don’t need to know the details.

Anyway, the other day I received an email from the RichDad, PoorDad people, with an article by Robert Kiyosaki on the current state of the financial market. I read it because I assumed that it would be a relatively positive take on the situation, and what the ordinary person can do about it. He has (more...)

What is your true vision for your business/project?

posted in Business Basics

It’s so important to have a true vision, and last night on a teleclass, I got back in touch with mine again.

I want Rich Thinking to be something that hundreds of thousands of people all over the world do, as a matter of course. Rich Thinking being the attitude that you bring to whatever you are doing. At the moment, I focus mostly on people who have businesses or are responsible for a project, but ultimately the principles of rich thinking apply to everyone, everywhere.

Some people naturally think rich, more than others. Some of us have to learn it, put it into practice and get better at it as time goes on. In fact, most people are like that. It’s no difference from learning a (more...)

The secret behind positive thinking

posted in Heart of RichThinking

Using positive affirmations is a fundamental in the world of personal development, and increasingly in the business world. In fact, thinking and imagining positively has been around for a long time, particularly in the sports world where it has been normal for many years for athletes and others to visualise and imagine themselves in the winning position.

However, I’ve come across many, many people somewhat disgruntled with positive thinking, because they say it doesn’t work. They’ve tried affirming for what they want, and it seems so patently ridiculous that they give up. Mistake. Because it’s that very thing that holds the secret to the success of the positive thought.

Imagine yourself saying a statement such as:

My income is constantly increasing

And then listen to what you think in response to that. If (more...)

Valuing what you’ve done and who you’ve become

How to find a niche that you can operate in that is solely your own is a challenge that many self-employed people find a bit daunting, and it’s one of the things I address on my coaching circles.

Yesterday I got an email from one of the current participants, saying that as a result of a comment another participant had made, she was exploring a particular area that she had skills in. The really important thing in this conversation was that she said ‘I’ve always just taken my circus skills for granted’. But since this comment was made, she’d been wondering how she could combine her past with her present talents in such a way that people might be interested.

This is one of the skills (more...)

4) Scottish Success Secret

1. A note from Jane

It’s the top of a little hill in south west Scotland. It’s dark (8.15pm on a Wednesday night). I’m sitting in my car with my laptop on my knees and speaking into a mobile phone. What was I doing? Learning how not to go away from home without checking your internet connection first! Yes, I was away in a fairly remote part of Scotland, where I had previously been able to go online in the comfort of the tiny beach cottage we were staying in. But this

time, the connection wasn’t (more...)
