Taking a dose of your own medicine
I’ve just read the last post, about growing into a new idea. I needed to read it, because today I’ve been wondering about using social media more effectively than I am, and although I know it is a ‘good idea’, somehow I just haven’t got around to it.
So, taking a dose of my own medicine, when this happens, it usually means there’s some resistance for some reason. What’s the resistance in this case? Beginning to feel overwhelmed again. In the last few days I’ve received info about a marketing programme, a marketing teleclass, a new personal coaching programme, and a new business to business forum. All of which I’m interested in, and of course only some of which I can do.
So, how to choose? Well, there’s the old throw the coins in the air method. There’s my decision-making from the inside out MP3 (see under free resources); there’s sitting still and meditating on it — I’m not short on techniques to use. And what do I do? Nothing!!! Why? Because I, just like you when you’re in resistance, find it easy to go into a space of lethargy and find other things that simply must be done, like replying to emails. And now I’m writing a blog about it (that’s another sign of resisting! — or at least it can be). At least now, writing this, I can see the funny side of it all. Perhaps being in a place of uncertainty and not making a decision is fine for now. In fact, even as I write this I feel motivated to review the theme of an article I’m writing…
