How can a tiny body movement affect how rich you are?

posted in Heart of RichThinking

And what on earth could it be, I hear you asking?

Well, this simple thing has innumerable benefits, and some of them are:

- makes you feel instantly better

- fills you with gratitude

- focuses your mind on the good things of life

- can bring peace of mind instantly

- softens your outlook on life

- opens your mind to possibility and opportunity

- puts things into perspective

It’s very small, and very simple.

You turn the corners of your mouth up. That’s all. Try it now and see what happens.

Or notice how resistant you are to doing it, and the thoughts that go along with that.

Sometimes the smallest things can be the most effective. This [read more]

Monday morning heaven

posted in Heart of RichThinking

This morning, Monday, the sun is shining, blue skies, warm air. After a week of greyness and drizzle, I was impelled to go out for a walk at 9.30am. This is normally the time I sit at my desk and write, or work or another kind. So going for a walk was at this time was a very different thing to do.

I knew, though, from past experience, that feeling this strongly about something meant I needed to do it, for I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on anything else until I had been outside. Usually I have been out and about very early, before breakfast, but not this morning. So I paid attention to my inner promptings, and have [read more]

Systems and getting things done

posted in Business Basics

On last week’s coaching circle, we were talking about systems, what they are, what they look like, how to put them into place, and the importance of having them in your business for it to run smoothly and easily. I invited everyone to think of one step they could take during the week towards improving their existing systems, or setting a new system up. So this morning, Saturday, not when I would usually work, but I thought I’m [read more]

The PlaceMat Process is so-called because it was first devised on the back of placemat in a restaurant. Here’s what you do:

1) Make a long list of what has to be done

2) Take another piece of paper and divide it in two. Head up the left hand side Things I Will Do Today, and the right hand side Things I [read more]

It’s never too late for your dream to come true

posted in Heart of RichThinking

Everyone has dreams, but most people don’t follow them, let alone achieve them. Usually, all sorts of excuses are readily available for why the dreams don’t happen ‘Not the right time’, or ‘I’m too old’, or ‘The opportunity passed me by’. But that’s all these are, excuses. If you have a dream, and you want it badly enough, you find a way of making it happen.

My friend is a case in point. Aged 65 and faced with the possibility of retiring, he allowed himself to remember a teenage dream. That’s a long time ago! What he’d wanted then was to live in France on a smallholding, and make a living from the land. Finally, he realised it was now [read more]
