Abundance Consciousness: turning fear into joy!

RichThinking Times Issue 7: May 2009

Dear

As I write this, I’ve just come back from an early morning walk, identifying the songs of different birds with a friend who is very knowledgeable about them. There were 6 of us and we all then shared a bountiful breakfast. What a start to the day, and it’s only 8.45am!

This month’s article is a short story I heard that I really wanted to share with you, as it’s a great example of putting into practice what ‘thinking rich’ really is. Randy is a friend of mine who is abundance personified, and yet is someone just like you and me who also has to face fears, concerns, worries.

Plus I introduce the idea of ‘progressive affirmations’. If you’ve used affirmations before and are disillusioned with them, read this and discover one of the reasons why this is.

Bring abundant thinking into your May this year!

Warm wishes

Jane

Article: Abundance Consciousness: turning fear into joy!

Randy Klinger is an amazing New Yorker, living near me here in Scotland, whose passion is art. Not only art but to provide Scotland with an Arts Centre which, as he says in his vision “questions, explores and finds the highest beauty of our time”. He is well-known in the locale as an amazing manifester – the Moray Arts Centre opened last year with him having raised more than a million in funding to build the Centre, a totally ecological building.

Why I am writing about this here? Because he recently told a lovely story of the presence of both fear and joy when you are wanting to manifest something in your life. Here it is:

An artist and teacher from afar arrived; excellent work, lovely exhibition. She gave two workshops that were lovely, but totally unviable money-earning-wise: a money loser.

When it was time for her to leave, I got full of fear, “What shall I do? We lost money, how can I pay her? Maybe I can get away with giving her a fiver and she won’t yell at me!

So, I noticed: I can now chose fear or fun, abundance or lack, which shall it be?

I aimed my thoughts at my love and appreciation of: who she is, what she gave, what she brought to the art centre, in fact, what a beautiful person she is. The ‘fear-monster’ that my lack-thoughts created was replaced by… a friend.

I sat at my desk and said, “Now what can I give my friend to show her how much she means to me and how much I appreciate her?” I choose a bunch of very crisp, new twenty pound notes, the prettiest that I could find and explained that I would have liked to give more.

Then I took her around the art centre, explaining to her the deepest core vision of our work; Beauty, Aesthetic Orgasm, awe, upliftment, joy…!

In the morning there was an envelope left at the art centre with her donation!

The moral:

Each of us acted from love.

Each of us acted from trust.

Each of us acted from abundance consciousness.

Each of us felt appreciated and honored.

Friendship and gratitude were felt and embedded.

Each of us felt rich.

Progressive affirmations

Affirmations have had a bit of a bad press over the years, as they appear to sometimes work for some people, some of the time. A bit unpredictable in other words! While a lot of this is to do with the energy associated with what you’re saying while you say them, also it is often the case that people try to jump to the top of the stairs from the bottom in one go. Much harder than taking it one step at a time! Hence the notion of ‘progressive affirmations’. Here’s an example of how they work:

Choose an affirmative statement for something that you want; let’s say ten more clients. Instead of jumping in with “I now have ten more clients”, which is the top step, instead say:

  1. Wouldn’t it be nice if I (had ten more clients)? This begins to shift the energy, as you imagine the benefits of having them.
  2. I am open and willing to (having ten more clients)
  3. I am now ready to (have ten more clients)
  4. I am on the way to (having ten more clients)
  5. I now (have ten more clients).

If you think about the energy associated with each of these statements, you’ll see how much easier it is to fully embrace these ideas one step at a time. By fully embrace, I mean that you know in your bones that this is true for you, and you feel certain and thrilled that this is happening. Take the time to examine each statement thoroughly, and admit what having ten more clients might mean to you, and if it is really true that this is what you want. You might be surprised! This month’s resource:

www.wanttobehappy.co.uk This is a cheerful little site, with the opportunity to post about what makes you happy – it makes interesting reading what people are putting there. Often they are things that are outside of the person, which by definition means that if you haven’t got those ‘things’ then you’re not happy – maybe!

However, it’s worth a visit for the resources, although many of them are in Scotland at the moment, Sylvia who runs the site will be promoting it UK wide.
