Are you being your personal best?

‘What do I need a coach for? I’ve always managed perfectly well on my own’.

This is a cry I’ve often heard in response to someone suggesting they find a coach. And of course, some people do manage perfectly well on their own. Others go through traumatic, challenging times and have no problem seeking out help. And yet the majority of people tend to struggle on through life, vaguely feeling like they could do better, or thinking that something is missing, or wondering why life is passing them by.

But having some coaching is just getting help. In the old days, you might have got help from your auntie who lived down the road or round the corner. Now, with much more extended families, and the world having shrunk, there’s clearly room for help to come from other sources.

This post is really a big plug for my own personal coach and mentor, Karen Hood-Caddy of www.personalbest.org. I can certainly say ‘what would I do without her!’

She has been an amazing support through good times and bad, with an interest in what I’m doing and yet a detached attitude to what I’m up to in my business that enables her to ask me some difficult questions. She’s just launched her new website www.personalbest.org — if you want to know more about coaching, visit it and get inspired.
