New Year’s Resolutions and courage

posted in Jane's Blog

Celebrating over lunch today with a friend of ours, we were pondering the idea of courage and commitment. ‘True commitment’, Martin said, ‘requires enormous courage, because when the s…t hits the fan, it is only that which carries you through’.

He’s right, and that’s why New Year’s Resolutions are traditionally a waste of time, because of the lack of commitment. Even setting goals is a waste of time unless they are committed to. I’m pretty good at committing to things once I have clearly chosen what it is; I know that difficult times will arise, and I also know that the very clear vision I create is the one thing that will take me through those times.

Courage, which is [read more]

Becoming a salesperson

I was invited to say something at the end of the film The Turning Point last night to encourage people to buy it. (See my post under Heart of RichThinking). It had inspired me so much that I was really happy to do this, as I want to see this film affecting hundreds of thousands of people, much in the same way that I want to see people becoming RichThinkers too.

Anyway, I stood up. I’d thought of how people could use this film, and I talked passionately just for a couple of minutes about how I’d found it, that I’d ordered ten copies for Christmas presents, and that the audience could too — or use them as gifts throughout [read more]

Usually your main place of work is where you do the nitty gritty of your service, that is, the actual delivery of it. This may be seeing clients, but it may also be the place where you promote yourself from, and do the administration of your business. Even if you have two locations for these different activities, they are places from which you do very specific types of work. But [read more]

What does fear really mean?

On an earlier post I asked about what F.E.A.R. stands for, and someone currently on the RichThinking Way Programme emailed me direct with these two meanings:

False Expectations About Reality

False Experience Appearing Real

Here’s another couple I read about: Face Everything And Recover , and Forgetting Everything is All Right.

But my all time favourite is: Faith Eradicated, Awaiting Resurrection — because when faith is present, fear is absent. When faith is present, I am in a good-feeling place inside myself. When fear is present, it’s not such a good place — and yet I can use it to remind myself I’m off track and it’s just a warning sign to take the time to get back on track. [read more]
