Law of Attraction, RichThinking & bookcases

posted in Heart of RichThinking, Jane's Blog

‘Katy look! There’s a bookcase!’

Now why should that be so exciting? It was only a small bookcase, solid wood, sitting on the pavement outside the local secondhand shop. I was walking by, taking my friend’s daughter to the park, and had only decided to go that particular way on a whim.

It’s exciting because I’d been wanting a bookcase for a while. I live in a very small town, quite far away from any place that I would think of to look for a bookcase, especially as I’m fussy about these things. But I did want one. I’d spoken to Philip about it. I knew exactly where it was going to go in the house, and I knew what books I was going (more...)

Using Affirmations to Find Out What You Really Think

posted in Articles

A positive affirmation is a statement made in a positive way as if it were true; some swear by them, but recently I’ve noticed there’s a lot of people around who are a bit disillusioned with them. They were very popular a while back, with people stating them left right and centre, and for some, their circumstances improved, but for an awful lot of other people, not much happened. The conclusion then became either, a) affirmations don’t work and it’s all a load of rubbish, or b) I’m even more hopeless than I thought, as I can’t even make affirmations work. Needless to say, neither of these is very helpful.

Nowadays, there are others saying that affirmations only work when you say them with feeling, (more...)

The sun is shining again!

Wow.

I woke up at 3.30am this morning, refreshed as if a rain shower had passed over me, and left my leaves and branches glistening with droplets of water.

I knew quite clearly what my business was about. It’s this:

I offer a business coaching service to therapists, counsellors and coaches. My USP is that I focus on the mindset necessary for success, as well as the practical work needed. Yes!

Wow.

I have been struggling with this for weeks now — knowing I wasn’t sure exactly what my market was, and how I wanted to communicate to those people out there. And aware that at the same time I was failing those people who were already interested. So now I am going to amend all my literature (more...)

Blue sky thinking

posted in Jane's Blog

Well the sky wasn’t blue this morning.

In fact it was very grey, and tipping it down. My mood was similar. Grey and gloomy. Particularly as a result of a phone call I’d received about the RichThinkers website. I felt like my business, which is a young one, was like a seedling that had been trampled on. Not quite broken, but very definitely trampled.

Hard to be a Rich Thinking kind of person in these circumstances.

Anyway after lunch I went off through the woods to some volunteer work I do. I was busy using the EFT technique as I went, saying to myself, ‘Even though I feel trampled on and squashed, I deeply and completely love and accept myself’.

It really helped.

That’s when the image of the trodden (more...)

To Do Lists: why they don’t work

posted in Jane's Blog

Reading over my To Do list, I just felt daunted. Even prioritising the items felt a bit overwhelming, because it seemed like everything was important!

Then I remembered that a To Do list can very easily become a form of poor behaviour – and here I was demonstrating it to myself! So I immediately changed the title of the list to ‘To Be Done’.

This had a pretty big effect right away, because To Be Done doesn’t mean that I have to do it, so the load I was imagining was all down to me was immediately halved.

But then I remembered something I’d done a few years ago when Philip and I were helping my parents renovate their old farmhouse in France. There were so (more...)
