Michael Phelps RichThinker Extraordinaire!

posted in Heart of RichThinking, Inspirational Quotes

“The biggest thing is, nothing is impossible. With so many people saying it (eight golds) couldn’t be done, all it takes is an imagination. That’s something I learned, something that helped me”.

quote from Michael Phelps, the American swimmer, who’s won eight Gold Medals in the Olympics.

Yes! Yes! Yes! That’s Rich Thinking! That’s knowing what your dream is and going for it, no matter what anyone else says! That’s doing what it takes to get there! I LOVE seeing people achieve their dreams!

WE JUST DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS POSSIBLE UNLESS WE GO FOR WHAT IS APPARENTLY IMPOSSIBLE

without allowing our doubts, fears and worries to get in the way. I don’t suppose for one minute that Michael Phelps has never had doubts and worries; but (more...)

How to do What I Did lists…

posted in Inspirational Quotes, Jane's Blog

I was telling a visiting friend the other day about my ‘What I Did’ list (see earlier post), and how good it felt to write it down and review it. He said:

“People who think through the things they’ve done in the day and say thank you live longer and happier lives, apparently. I’ve always gone through everything I’ve done and been grateful for it, last thing at night, ever since I can remember”.

I said ‘You’ll be on my blog tomorrow!” And so he is. Thank you, Martin! (Professor of Mountain Studies at the University of the Highlands and Islands, and a great advert for looking young, and staying fit and healthy).

I think he’s right of course — so I’m adding being grateful for (more...)

Business coaching and therapists — do they go together?

posted in Business Basics

OK. So I’m clear now about my niche market.

It’s people I’ve been around all my adult life — therapists, counsellors, coaches and other healing professionals. I’ve been one of this group. I’ve worked with them. And I’ve noticed that the words ‘business’ and ‘therapist’ often aren’t used together. Is this because therapists have an inbred dislike of the word? Is it because they don’t have a business, they have a practice? (And what is the difference between a business and a practice anyway? I’ll be writing an article about that in the near future).

‘Business’ and ‘coaches’ go together. ‘Business’ and ‘healers’ — maybe not. There is something in this marketplace that is not sitting quite right, because of course the most successful (more...)

Dealing with overwhelm

posted in Jane's Blog

Eeek!

That’s my usual response to feeling like there’s too much to do. It’s a bit squeaky, that sound, but that’s what it feels like inside me. Then the usual behaviour that follows is a great need to suddenly rush up to the shops, or do something relatively mindless like take my library books back, or potter around finding tidying jobs to do in the house. Sometimes I do just these things, and sometimes it works to free my mind up from panic, so I can see clearly again. it’s a bit hit and miss though.

Anyone identify with me here?

Overwhelm is one of the things that can happen really easily when you’re learning a lot, which is what I’m doing right now. Hard (more...)

10 Simple Ways to Start Thinking Rich

posted in Heart of RichThinking

I just came up with this list the other day, they all spilt out of my head like a can of beans being turned upside down.

1. Always say ‘How can I afford it?’ instead of ‘I can’t…’

2. Decide to always see the glass half full

3. Decide what is enough for you and affirm you always have it

4. Buy yourself one item that is of quality rather than 3 of a cheaper quality

5. Tell yourself ‘I love you and you’re worth it’ every day in the mirror

6. Be grateful for what you already have in your life

7. Decide to say Yes to something you’d usually say No to

8. Create a Virtuous Circle – keep thinking success thoughts about yourself

9. Stop blaming someone or something else for what’s happening in your life

10. (more...)
