Mastermind Magic: using the power of the third mind

posted in Articles, Business Basics

Sitting in my friend’s room, overlooking Findhorn Bay, were 6 people. Apparently nothing was happening, as everyone had their eyes closed, no-one saying anything. But we were in a circle facing each other, so clearly something was going on.

To an outsider, it might have looked a bit odd. To us, well, it was one of the fortnightly Mastermind meetings that we have. We’d begun as usual in silence, which is about giving ourselves a time of reflection, to gather thoughts, to focus our minds on what the next 2.5 hours would be about.

As the first fifteen minutes drew to a close, our leader for that week asked everyone to state a success from the past fortnight (we’re really hot on celebrating each other). Then we (more...)

Thinking yourself rich and slim!

posted in Heart of RichThinking, Jane's Blog

I was walking back home through the trees and across the park, my mind meandering as it does sometimes.

Suddenly I realised I was thinking about losing a bit of weight, and remembered that in the hypnotherapy CD I’d been listening to, I’d been imagining myself in a particular pair of trousers I can fit into when I’ve lost a few pounds. I brought to mind that image, and realised I needed to get used to it in my mind’s eye first before it could happen in physical reality.

Ding! Yes — even though I’ve known this kind of thing intellectually for ages, it was one of those moments when you reach a different level of understanding.

Then I thought ‘I need to become comfortable in (more...)

Rich Thoughts about trying!

posted in Heart of RichThinking

Sitting at the breakfast table this morning, I realised I was ‘trying to get on top of everything’ that has to be done business-wise.

Then I thought

‘What about if there is no everything to get on top of?’

And of course there isn’t. It’s just my perception. Immediately, by changing this thought I am freed from the pressure that comes with the first sentence. Aaaah! Lovely!

Of course, it doesn’t mean I just sit back and take it easy. (Although I could, and then there would be consequences of that). No, it means that I get to revisit what I want to achieve, prioritise it, and then commit to taking action on the priorities.

So I wonder — do you have an ‘everything’ in your life that you ‘try (more...)

A Rich Thinking Coach or a poor one – which are you?

Question: What’s the difference between two coaches, both running their own coaching business to the same market, but one is doing spectacularly well financially and the other is just doing OK?

Answer: The first one is using their mindset FOR them, and the other is using their mindset AGAINST them. So how do you use your mind for you? First of all, read these statements and see if any of them apply to you:

  • I’ll never get any more clients
  • Help, I need more clients!
  • It’s a struggle to find the right people to work with
  • I haven’t got enough time
  • There’s so much to do I’ll never get it all done
  • Money always seems to elude me
  • I can’t put my prices up, the market won’t stand it
  • I might lose clients if I put my prices up
  • The reason I’m not more (more...)

Love and Fear

posted in Inspirational Quotes

I was so inspired when I read this the other day in our local community publication, the Rainbow Bridge, that I just had to post it here. For me, love is the essence of Rich Thinking…

There are only two feeling, love and fear
There are only two languages, love and fear
There are only two activities, love and fear
There are only two motive, two procedures,
Two frameworks, two results, love and fear,
Love and fear

By Michael Leunig

Next time you’re making a decision, ask yourself ‘Am I doing this out of of love, or out of fear?’ It’s a great question…
