I was in tears and despair as I read an article about what’s been happening in America and worldwide.
I don’t usually let myself read the media, because I get too easily infected by negative things. But I had done on this occasion. Wasn’t a good feeling — but it’s resulted in these thoughts.
RichThinking is about finding your own sources of true wealth and setting your life up to experience that on a daily basis.
It’s not just about money, although it includes money. Rather it’s about knowing who you are; choosing to express that in the world in a way that nourishes you and everyone else; having a sense of your own worth; charging accordingly for your work; feeling good more often than not.
Doing all these things sends out a different kind of energy into the world — no longer fear based, which is about contraction, it’s love-based which is about expansion. Harness your fears, understand that they really are simply worrying about a future event which may or may not happen, and focus instead on what you want more of in your life, which often boils down to just love. Send out that kind of energy and the fear will melt away.
It takes some discipline this, in the face of the amount of fear that is going around the world right now. But if you bring yourself down to your world, which is what you can most easily influence, then deliberately choosing to direct your thoughts towards what you want more of in your life, and what you already have, is going to end up in you feeling good. And many people feeling good also rubs off on others, just like the fear is doing at the moment.
Watch out though, for thinking you’re focusing on what you want more of, and actually focusing on what you haven’t got.
Especially with money, or clients, it’s easy to start off by saying ‘I want more clients, or more money’ and then find yourself actually thinking about the money you haven’t got, or the clients you haven’t got. This is why it’s so important to know very exactly what you do want in your life, and have a very clear picture or sense of that. For instance, for more clients you’d be imagining a stream of them outside your door waiting to see you. Or a written waiting list of those wanting appointments. Then the discipline is focusing simply on these scenarios to the exclusion of any other thoughts that might want to get in the way, such as ‘but it’s not happening!’ or ‘this is silly’, or ‘well where are they?’.
Financial collapse may be happening, but that doesn’t mean that your own inner collapse needs to happen as well.
We can use the apparent disasters that are occurring around the world as a signal to focus even more on what we do want. Which, when it really comes down to it, is very often simply being loving, being loved and expressing that every day.
The world needs people like us, RichThinkers, more than ever, to demonstrate the amazing power of our thoughts, and how they contribute so much to our experience.
