Learning from dogs

posted in Jane's Blog

Just looked at what I wrote in the last post — I was going to leave behind grey, wet and windy weather when doing my workshop in Greece…

Ha!

Actually the weather was better here in the north of Scotland! I’ve never known Greece like it — it may not have been windy but it was certainly grey and wet. Ah well. However — the workshop was fantastic, went really well, lots of good feedback and I really enjoyed myself.

This morning though, out walking, a dog bounced up to me. It was a Golden Retriever, and looked so happy I started musing about what it would be like to be a dog. They seem to me to have life [read more]

What if…

Usually we talk about what if… and then what follows is something depressing.

This is a phrase associated with a worry thought, normally, ie what if…I lose my house; what if… I get made redundant; what if…I can’t find a job; what if…no clients come to me; what if…I can’t find consulting rooms.

But what if… this phrase was associated with things that are wonderful?

I’ve discovered an amazing website that suggests this and much more. It’s called the What If Up club. Instead of thinking ‘what if DOWN thoughts, you think what if UP thoughts instead! Talk about Rich Thinking!

But as soon as I’d been singing for ten minutes, I knew I’d made the right decision. My heart soared, I felt immensely grateful I’d chosen to sing, and I knew all over again why I’m alive and what is my purpose on this earth. Wow! How’s that for the result of a decision!

Anyway — the reasoning behind this is applicable in any situation. I’d [read more]

Mastermind Magic: using the power of the third mind

posted in Articles, Business Basics

Sitting in my friend’s room, overlooking Findhorn Bay, were 6 people. Apparently nothing was happening, as everyone had their eyes closed, no-one saying anything. But we were in a circle facing each other, so clearly something was going on.

To an outsider, it might have looked a bit odd. To us, well, it was one of the fortnightly Mastermind meetings that we have. We’d begun as usual in silence, which is about giving ourselves a time of reflection, to gather thoughts, to focus our minds on what the next 2.5 hours would be about.

As the first fifteen minutes drew to a close, our leader for that week asked everyone to state a success from the past fortnight (we’re really [read more]

Thinking yourself rich and slim!

posted in Heart of RichThinking, Jane's Blog

I was walking back home through the trees and across the park, my mind meandering as it does sometimes.

Suddenly I realised I was thinking about losing a bit of weight, and remembered that in the hypnotherapy CD I’d been listening to, I’d been imagining myself in a particular pair of trousers I can fit into when I’ve lost a few pounds. I brought to mind that image, and realised I needed to get used to it in my mind’s eye first before it could happen in physical reality.

Ding! Yes — even though I’ve known this kind of thing intellectually for ages, it was one of those moments when you reach a different level of understanding.

Then I thought [read more]
