Law of Attraction, RichThinking & bookcases

‘Katy look! There’s a bookcase!’

Now why should that be so exciting? It was only a small bookcase, solid wood, sitting on the pavement outside the local secondhand shop. I was walking by, taking my friend’s daughter to the park, and had only decided to go that particular way on a whim.

It’s exciting because I’d been wanting a bookcase for a while. I live in a very small town, quite far away from any place that I would think of to look for a bookcase, especially as I’m fussy about these things. But I did want one. I’d spoken to Philip about it. I knew exactly where it was going to go in the house, and I knew what books I was going to put on it. I’d said out loud that I wanted one. I’d even been into the second hand shop asking if they ever got any. But it wasn’t so urgent that I was going to have a special shopping trip for one, especially as the shop I like for these kinds of things is 4 hours drive away.

Anyway, that was about two weeks ago. I forgot all about it, until I passed it with Katy. It was the perfect size, good condition, price acceptable. Long story short, I bought it. The owner said ‘It’s only been out there about half an hour, that’s a good sale!’. I got it home and have enjoyed putting all my books on it. Then I forgot all about it.

But I was sitting up in bed this morning reading ‘The Law of Attraction’ by Esther and Jerry Hicks, and Iit occurred to me then that this was a perfect example of the Law of Attraction in action. I knew what I wanted, I was very clear about it. I put it out to the Universe. I let go (so much I forgot all about it). And everytime I looked at the piles of books on the floor, I thought about how having a new bookcase would make a big difference. And then I passed the shop and saw it.

Wow. So that’s how it works. Then I realised that much of what I was reading about was very similar to what I’ve been writing about in my new e-manual on Rich Thinking.

Mmm… must think about this a bit more.
