Rich Thinking in hard times
It’s easy at the moment to believe all you hear in the papers and other media — everywhere you look, people are talking about doom and gloom, the end of the financial system as we know it, rising prices, negative equity, you name it — there will be someone focusing on what we haven’t got.
I know that thinking like this makes me feel glum, to put it mildly. So I’ve been taking steps to surround myself with people and information that helps to make me feel positive. There is no doubt this is a market for opportunities, if you are thinking that way. I deliberately choose to focus everyday on what I have got, rather than what I haven’t. And I encourage you to do the same. It makes for a much nicer day! You can do this by simply deciding when you wake in the morning to see the best in every situation. So if it’s raining, you decide to say thanks to the rain for making our country so green, for there being plenty of water for drinking, rather than moaning about the rain again.
This is not necessarily an easy thing to do — to focus on the rich aspects of life when people around you are prophecying nothing but bad things, you have to be willing to stand out in the face of that. It’s certainly easier when you have support to do this. But it’s not impossible, and it MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER!!! It’s not about denying your situation — it’s just about CHOOSING to see the best.
